West Deane Way: Complete
The West Deane Way overlaps into West Somerset at the eastern end of the Quantock Hills and provides a variety of landscapes from agricultural, woodland and river flood plain meadows to the slopes of the Brendon Hills and the wilder Quantocks. It is a delight with hidden folds and picturesque villages tucked away, offering charming old pubs, historical links and craftskills aplenty.
The circular route is 45 miles long and follows the River Tone for part of the way but gentle climbing will reveal spectacular views over the Vale of Taunton and beyond.

Accommodation is plentiful in the area and the walk is ideal for that long walking weekend you have been promising yourself.

A booklet ‘ The West Deane Way’ is available from Taunton and Wellington Tourist Information Centres. More information can be obtained from the Somerset County Council website.
