Quantock Greenway: Complete
The Quantock Hills are special, being designated as the first ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (AONB) in the country in 1956. It is clear to see why, as the area is rich in history and from its heights spectacular views can be enjoyed over the whole area and across the Bristol Channel to South Wales. The Quantock Greenway enables you to discover its intimacy, its charming villages and wildlife. Divided into two loops of 20 miles (QGW) and 18 miles (QGE ) respectively which would each be a challenging days walk it is possible to plan circular walks over a few days to make a perfect walking holiday. Bed and Breakfast facilities are readily available all around the area and the hills are close enough toTaunton or Bridgwater to make day outings an attractive proposition. Links to the West Somerset Coast Path. enable the long distance walker to connect on to the South West Coast Path, the premier national trail in the country.
